Donna MacDonald is an “alla prima” painter, painting wet into wet and uses expressive and loose brushstrokes. She works in both acrylic and oil, using a vibrant colour palette and incorporates texture into many of her figurative paintings. Her intention is to tell a story and maybe spark a memory of perhaps a walk in the park or a day at the beach.  Her impressionistic style is meant to draw the viewer into the painting as a participant.
